The Story of Natty Dread

The abandoned boat that became an existential project…

It’s a New Yorker that bought land in Waree Bight (we forgot his name) started the project in the early 2000’s with Cristobal Verde and never showed up again.
The boat project abandoned at the Shipwright’s yard started to rot and nobody was taking care of it (still it was under a roof).

This was in the Main street of Sarteneja so every time I was passing in front of the Verde Family’s yard with my bicycle I just get fascinated by the beautiful lines of the boat and I knew this boat was going to have a bright future !

Sustainable wooden boat of Sarteneja

Back then, my idea was to revitalized the wooden boat construction activity considering the sustainability aspect, which was at this time not perverted, in my sens, by BIG corporate and globalist institutions within UN Agenda 2030. Keep it LOCAL and SIMPLE, rooted to local community and the surrounding environment, not a multi billion dollars machine feeding traders and Blackrock market with coercion and population control in mind…

In my view at that time it was just simple. Be cautious with the resource and give a chance to alternative material such the BIO-SOURCED Epoxy like Super Sap (Entropy) (using the wood pulp industry waste) and HEMP fiber, which is way better than cotton…

I was the FIRST in the WORLD to use the Entropy Resins SUPER SAP BIO-EPOXY on a wooden boat (I received the bottles of resins and hardener with labels printed on the desk printer of the 2 Californian brothers) , unfortunately, after several years importing, distributing and using the product, Gougeons INC, the leader in Epoxy product with WEST SYSTEM took over Entropy and re market Super Sap in the Craft and Art…
